I ended my Part 1 of Degree!

Yes it's fast.

We lived to see day by day when suddenly it becomes year by year and now I'm on my semester break. Wow a semester ended.

Ok bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Assalamualaikum peeps.
I'm trying to write here. Wish me luck that I don't get distracted thus another draft :P

So I'm currently home for my semester break. Degree semester break. Yes it sounds fascinating it's no longer a matriculation semester break but an actual university semester break. Lulz I know I seemed noob but it's okay; I really am.

Well it's 2015 and I'm unofficially 20. Nine more months to end my teen phase pheww how can I adult? I cannot adult yet. Ma mom did not sign the permission letter to this pls. Ok enough blabbering I'm going to review the whole semester into a short post. Yes short.

Frankly speaking, degree life isn't that much of amazing. It's actually much on alone view. Honestly I didnt really like it -- matriculation was wayyyy better but I guess this is adult's way of life. Alone yes if we are to describe an adult, isnt it more to a 'lonely' kind of description?

You gotta survive alone. DO things alone. Not alone that literally means you're alone by yourself but alone it the means that this is your life nobody cares even though we're actually doing the same thing but no we're still alone kind of feels?

I don't really know. This MIGHT be the inner remnants teenager side of me talking. It might sounded childish in an adult view though. I don't know yet.

However, skipping that part away -- I like what I learned so much that *DRUMROLLS* I actually studied hard for the semester!! Not hard meaning hard but hard for the mean of me. You knew it I never study for exams before. I spent secondary school wondering how people define study yes I was that kind of people. Ho hoho I'm not sure whether to feel proud or ashamed.

Means that I like BIO411 BIO460 CSC425 HBU114 MAT421 PHY400 (I kind of lie about the last two subjects) Unfortunately I didn't took ELC400 it's kind of frustrating I should have not took the Pengecualian Credit *sigh*

Though I have a few to complains I like the subjects I like what I learned I like the lecturers I like the syllabus but I don't really like the final examination. Here's the thing; study week started on 21/12/14 and my last paper (MAT421) ended on 19/1/15 evening. Wow it was a whole month of studying I was literally crazy. To not study well it's like suicide but to study and do the same routine for a month got me all mental. I was all giddy up for this semester I told you I just got used to study then I was forced to do it for the whole month sobsob.

Well worry not because it ended.

I have another fascinating story about my BIO411 lecturer. It was during a lab session when she walk pass through our table and saw my lab manual with big óverzealous bionikiim written on it so she ask whose is it so I said it's mine. She's like what do you want to express with this word? So I'm like "urm urrmm well yeahh" (you know I became mute when unexpected things came across ha ha) Shen then said she wanted me to have a new word to label myslef besides 'overzealous' and that's a task to be finished before next lab session. I purposely forgetting it assuming she will too (hohoho) but by the end of semester she kept asking and reminding me that she hasnt even forgetting it once. I blued yeah so I promised to message her before final exam. On study week I put up some courage and started to write an email (becaue I'm not good with short message). Obviously I need to write two emails because the first email was a complete rant and the second was a filtered one. It gave me so much satisfaction so I sent it. I even message her saying that I sent an email but I got no reply. I freaked out O.O But few days later I checked my mailbox and got a reply and it was beautiful. So beautiful that I read it a few times, many times, every time. But I didn't reply, I couldn't, I didn't dare to. Because if I did then she have to reply me back and it might become a conversation AND IT SHOULD NOT! I'm an awkward potato no it should not :'( But still the email is like a antidote that stays in my mailbox <3 If by any chance my lecturer google up her name (I did this often with my name just to see how famous my name is, do everyone else done the same? No? Kbye) and if by any chance this post get to her, well I just want to thank you A LOT Ms. HILWANI (FSG UITM Shah Alam) <3
Well I dont know what to wrote anymore. I tend not to use my brain by thinking whenever I'm home that's why I seems like a useless bum hahhahhahahhahhahahhahahhahahhahhahaha no I'm not kidding why am I not using my brain???! T_________________T

Ouh did I said about my degree life which kind of feels lonely and gloomy? Well all those times I spend a lot of times with my phone and laptop *cough* I really spend a lot of times with them that I started new things. I do Sony Vegas but it's still hard I know some basics but don't expect a lot. I explore things I havent done before. I finisehed some video projects. And amazingly now I HAVE MY OWN FIRST VERSION OF FANVIDEO! FIRST ANIMATION VIDEO! FIRST VBLOG! AND FIRST VIDEO RANTING I still cannot believe it so whenever you doubt yourself, just go to an isolated island and do what your heart tells you to do. You'll never know what you are capable of until you're bored -- really have nothing to do. Okay that quite a quote there HOHOHOHOHOOOOOO seeya :)

Qaylula? Siesta?

I was strolling through my draft and saw this. My procrastination was too much. This just need a few editing to be posted bdw. Too much kimah--too much.

And it's a Malay-English post. Well it was the time I was feeling good with my Malay I guess.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well I'm going to talk about this new jargon here; qaylula or siesta.

Apa tu Qaylula? Hurmm, ingat tak.. dlm sehari harian kita ada satu time yg mmg syokkkkkk bertidoq? Alaa, yg waktu tghari tuuu, hehe tahu tak tu adalah salah satu sunnah Rasulullah saw? Tidur sekejap sebelum Zuhr yakni slm pukul 12 sampaaailah pukul 1. Erkk kalau yg terbabas sampai 3, 4 ptg tu dah menda lain ehh. Hehe.

“It is recommended to take advantage of the afternoon nap (qaylula), for the Prophet (Allah bless him & give him peace) said, “Take afternoon naps, for the devils do not take afternoon naps.”

Seeeeeee bertidoq pun ada pahala! Jika bertepatan dgn cara :)
Jadi Jika ada spare time waktu sebelum Zuhur tu, eloklah berlena sebentar even 2-3 minit. Kalau mcm kehidupan matrik ni, hari yg rehat pukul 1-2, eloklah pegi Surau terus bertidoq, waktu azan terusss boleh bangun untuk solat. Yabedabeduuuuuu ^^v

Haaaa, dan pasal Qaylula ni, atauuuuu istilah mat-saleh-yg-tak-berapa-solehnya; siesta (ni jargon mano pulok) terbukti mempunyai banyakkkkkk manfaat.
Ada satu artikel tu, BBC punya artikel mengenai benefits of siesta ni. Some of it are;
  • A nap during the day improves the brain's ability to absorb new information, US scientists claim.
  • The latest study suggests that the brain may need sleep to process short-term memories, creating "space" for new facts to be learned.

  • The wealth of study into the science of sleep in recent years has so far failed to come up with conclusive evidence as to the value of a quick "siesta" during the day.
Haa tu baru artikel BBC pasal siesta.

So konklusi saya adalah siesta is qaylula. Well again, Islam is indeed the most perfect deen; kamil. Rasulullah taught us about qaylula when there's not even a sign of scientific facts at the time. Too bad, some of us, sometimes we believe the scientific facts more than what have been told by Allah, by Rasulullah and through the divine revelation itself--Al Quran right?

Allah--may Allah forgive our ignorance :'(

oberdose

"too much neoya your love this is overdose"
what i am currently overdosing with?
--doing nothing

apparently there's nothing i do everyday.
nothing as in not a thing to do.
put aside things like eating doing chores sleeping even breathing that's too common
but there's nothing else to do besides that.

i quit my job at arena digital *cough* bcause i said i need to focus on car driving class *cough* but yeah reality is, there's too much time though.

pathetically, i get excited for new subbed dramas or variety shows being uploaded into dramafire everyday! bcause i can take time to download it and then watch it then poof i am actually doing something!

pathetic.

and what's even more pathetic, i don't like how my break is getting away like this. i dreamt of filling it leisurely as in doing things that could benefit me. but again, too much time makes me toooooooooo lazyto even start doing anything because i have no desire no passion no iltizam--nothing.

bye, i dont even have enough spirit to write a lot :(

Interview UKM (Doktor Perubatan)

Assalamualaikum :)

It's been quite a long silence isn't it? I promised to talk about a lot of things but the thing is I didn't aite? Sorrrrry I'm having a lot of free times that whenever I feel like writing a new post; I keep procrastinating asif jiddan -,.-

So--I'm going to write about my interview experience in UKM (which happened last month but since I was just being lazy; it took a lot of ijtihad to actually write this hoho). No; I'm not one of those really good excellent student--I'm just the average and not so hardworking one that become diligent at some point of exam. Wait what?

I think I'm gonna write some disclaimers; I'm not good in telling stories. At some point, you might think I'm rambling and off the topics because I'm really not a person of words. I deeply apologize and ask for your understanding~juseyo.

I'll just go straight to the point--I'm a matriculation leaver, I got 8A's during SPM (Bio A, Modern Math A+, BM A+, BI A+, Chemistry B+, Add Math B+, Physics B; this is just for your references told ya I'm not a top scorer) and my CGPA in semester 1 during matriculation is 3.5. In my UPU apllication, I put UKM - Doktor Perubatan as #1.

The point is; the fact that I got chosen for the interview might be varied. Yes SPM result might or might not affect the IV selection, I got the minimal qualification for this course (3.5), and choosing UKM as the first choice might showed my fetermination--I guess who knows;

But anyhow, alhamdulillah tsummalhamdulillah; this is my first IV in my entire life. I missed my MARA IV after SPM (which is an eternal regret that I actually know it the day after the IV haha)

I'm sorry--I ran out of topics; I'll just basically tell you about the IV itself I'm really really sorry I couldn't keep on track ;~;

Ok, when you get choosen for an interview; the most important thing is to be ready. Make preparations for basic IV question. I'm sorry I couldn't provide you that google it; the basics are something like self introduction, the reasons you choose UKM, why do you wanna be a doctor (etc etc etc you can google it; good luck)

I'm going to tell you about the procedure I went through that day. The IV took part at Pusat Perubatan UKM in Cheras and I got the morning session so we went early and arrive before 8. We, the candidates are asked to enter the buildings without any parents and we waited at the lobby, don't worry you can ask people around but the thing is don't be shy! Tbh, I'm one overly socially awkward person but the moment I was left alone at the unfamiliar place I keep telling myself to be brave, I survived *insert a touched-looking-meme* Well yeah obviously I feel like leaving the site seeing that the majorities are CHinese and Indians man! there are trillions of butterflies in my stomach atm >,.< All kind of thoughts popped out in my head "you're the only one from matrik here" "wey orang lain budak 4 flat lerh" "screw you, other's a re way better" Ya Allah, I feel terribly insecure but I keep it in until alhamdulillah, the girl next to me ask me something and she ended up to be from matriculation too yesssir and another amazing thing is that she is actually my ex-practicum mate in KMPP! (Well this is a long story I was in H1P7 the moment I entered KMPP but after minggu orientasi ended, I changed class and she transfered to matrik Selangor, this is kind of amazing that she feels familiar with me thus the question about my former practicum hoooooo Abang Kahar did you read this; we used to be under you during our MPPB in matrik penang and we finally meet each other in UKM lobby when I was terribly feeling insecure Allahu, thank you Allah)

...

I keep running out of topics :(

So, before we could actually go through the interview session--we need to go through a computerized aptitude test; be prepared, different uni gives out different kind of aptitude test I guess. Because UKM's aptitude test is more towards your attitude and lifestyle while my friend took the UM aptitude test for the same course but theirs is more towards IQ and knowledge (they even need to bring calculator with them oh no math seriously they're doing math if it was me, I would cry)

If you don't even understand what is this aptitude test, you can try to google it and you can even practice doing the test online, I do it prior my interview (just because I freaked out after hearing that I need to go through a test ha ha) Be ready makes you confident, so do it good luck!

Apparently, UM interview candidates need to pass the aptitude test to be able to undergo the interview session (or else you can just go home after that) but in UKM everyone that came in the morning can go through the interview procedure. Well, there's actually a technical mistakes with the internet server so we ended up doing the test manually so we coudnt obtain the result ASAP so that's why I'm not really sure if UKM is actually differ from UM.

After the test, we are leaded to another building and asked to wait until we're called.Once we're called (not by name but by the number they've given us) we're going to wait in front of the interview room. It's a two-on-one interview session. That's the last moment to keep track of everything, just don't be nervous. Be calm.

So after a while, you'll be asked to enter the room, knock before you enter and ask before you sit. And never put your hand on the table if there is one (in my case, there's a table so that actually help me a bit in not feeling insecure as there is a barrier between us). There's two interviewer; both are professors whoa. And there's some thing that I would like to tell:

  1. Do not be too nervous. As what I can see, the interviewers try to look calm and ramah as possible so we would feel comfortable with them. Use the opportunity to regain your confidence.
  2. Speak the language you are most comfortable in. (In my case, I prepared for the whole time in English, but the first interviewer start asking me in Malay, and due to nervousness I just couldn't change back to English; that's one of my biggest regret). Let's say you've prepared in English, just be confident and speak as you've prepared even if the question was in Malay. Also vice versa, if they asked you in English, just go through it and whenever you feel insecure, change to Malay naturally; you might want to practice this a bit.
  3. Be logic and worthy. Honestly, most of the questions are the same as what you found on the internet, so expect any of them coming. They will also give a situation and ask for your opinion about what to do ( Mine is 'You're a leader of a group of four, and two of your mates are not doing their job right; what should you do with them and what should you do with the critics oming from the superior power above?') Well, it would be tricky but try to be logic and put some good moral values in your future action; be convincing and make them feel worthy to recruit you.
  4. Take a control of the conversation. Truthfully, most interviews will be asking the same questions right? They ask, you answer, they ask you answer especially if your answers are 100% memorized from the internet. Of course it's a good thing to have the interview smoothly but this is my sincere opinion; if you have a story behind your passion to be doctor or any stories that you find worth it, lead them to a situation where they'll ask you to tell more about it. (It happened to me, unplanned though. When I was nervously talking they suddenly became interested to a small point in what I am saying and thus lead them to ask a question about it, alhamdulillah it is actually something personal which I thought worth sharing with them and it is somehow quite special ha ha) This is because they've heard all various of answers from the typical questions so when we're telling them our stories, they'll be much anticipated.
  5. Be humble yet be confident. One thing you need to keep in mind is always be humble, never ever sounded as if you're overly confident because yeah you know it--that'll irritate and annoy the interviewers. And ask questions! Show your curiosity and keen about anything; the university, the course anything even if you already know about it.
Well, I guess that are the things that I really really want to share. I'm neither one of those famous blogger nor an academically excellent student but since I was given an opportunity to be selected for the interview, it'll be a waste if I keep the tips to myself. Because I was freaking out when I know that I was selected too. I was panicking and not knowing what to do, what to bring, what to prepare, what to say, even what to breathe in and out I was totally clueless haha. The internet has been a good mate of mine prior the interview so I keep in mind that I need to share what I know. Even though In know I might or might nor be helping you guys. In case you're now wandering around the internet feeling as clueless as I was, be strong. You can do it!

Whoever you are, sir a'la barakatillah. Good luck for your interview, your future and your life. May Allah bless :)

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ

"Every soul shall taste death."
[Quran 29:57]

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

We were walking back from Surau An-Nur as usual.
And on the way we decided to go to the ATM to withdraw some money since there's not many students lining up tonight.

Meme withdrew. I withdrew. Has withdrew. Ana withdrew. Then we left the are to our next station; koop. While walking in front of Pentad, we were chatting, joking when suddenly Ana read a text message and she froze. It was a message from our class vice president, Oyah.
"Assalamualaikum.. Al-Fatihah kpd ayah sahabat kita, Masihta yg telah kembali ke rahmatullah ptg tadi. smga arwah ditempatkan dlm kalangan org beriman."
 We froze. Speechless.
Especially Haslina. She was literally Syitah's classmate from high school. Ana and Has called some friends for confirmation. Innalillahi wainnailaihirajiun.

Surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return.

.
.
.

Indeed. It was shocking. And Has said that as far as she knew her father wasn't ill or something and from what Oyah told Ana, her father was okay at the evening. Allah knows best. Kullu nafsi zaiqatul maut. Every soul shall taste death. It's just a matter of time. All of us shall taste death and we did not know when is our turn.

Be prepared.
No one knows when is our turn except Allah 'azzawajalla.

Allahumma ahyina bil iman, waamitna bil iman. Wah syurna ma'al iman. Waadkhilnal jannata ma'al iman..

Again, Al Fatihah to my friend's father En. Parman.  And help to pray that my friend is strong enough to go through this. Our mid semester test is next week. Allahhh :'(
